How to organize a church potluck

Checklist

  1. Pick date, location, and serving time (include setup buffer).
  2. Set categories: mains, sides, salads, desserts, drinks, serving supplies, cleanup.
  3. Note dietary needs (allergies, gluten-free, vegetarian) in the host message.
  4. Assign setup and teardown volunteers separately from food claims.
  5. Share one link — not a PDF, photo of a sheet, and a reply-all thread.
  6. Send a reminder two days before with what is still missing.
  7. Day-of: post who is bringing what near the serving line.
